Last week I was out with a great family from South Carolina. An ex-military husband and wife team plus mom. They had driven down to view some vacation homes and as they were already approved for finance, now wanted to check out the properties.
We started out on Highway 27 in a newer community. The 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom homes are really nice and they loved the property. The community had a cabana, a pool and play area.
We headed over to Solterra Resort and drove through the gated entrance. I had explained on the way that I felt that they needed to see a resort community which was another option for them.
We headed into the club house and looked at the restaurant, the bar, gym, tennis courts, soccer field and the huge pool with its slides and lazy river, which were filled with families on vacation having fun.
It was time to take a look at some property. They already understood that a single family home at Solterra was not in their budget, so on this occasion we were going to view the town homes.
With 2,136 sq.ft under air plus a lanai and splash pool, this is no run of the mill town home. There are 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms. For many people this second home was as big if not bigger than the home they live in.
Next door was a 5 bedroom. 5 bathroom home with 2,398 sq.ft under air which they also loved.
The fact that there was a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor in these homes meant that the grandparents would be able to come with them.
I asked them “If you booked a vacation in this property, would you be happy?” The answer was a unanimous yes. They would love to stay in this property.
Understanding how your guests will feel when they rent property from you, is key to being a successful vacation home owner. If you are more than impressed, your guests will be too.
I got this family into this home for well under $299,900.
